Gobi Gassi/ Cauliflower and Green Peas Curry

Gassi is Karnataka dish prepared by using Garam masala/ mixed spices. I love the gobi gassi my mom prepares, so today I am going to share her recipe here. It is an excellent side dish for chapathi.

Gobi Gassi

Set 1

Cauliflower- 1 cup

Green peas- 1/2 cup

Tamarind water- 1 spoon

Garam masala powder- 1/2 teaspoon

Set 2

Cocconut- Freshly grated, 1/2 cup

Red chillies- 3-4 ( according to your taste)

Zeera- 1 teaspoon

Coriander- 1 teaspoon

cinnamon sticks- small piece

Black pepper corns- 6-8

Take a pan and fry the ingredients under set 2 and grind it into smooth paste. Cook the soaked ( soaked for at least 4-5 hours) green peas and drain it. Add cooked cauliflower and green peas in to a deep pan and mix well with ground paste. Add a little water to get the gravy and now add salt and little tamarind water. Add Garam masala powder and simmer it for 5 minutes. Gassi is ready to be served with chapathi or rice.
